Fibreglass Moulds

Postby Shane on Wed May 04, 2005 6:35 pm

Has any of the state associations obtained a Sabre Fibreglass mould for it's member to use. In Qld the 125 association has a 125 mould and talking to there memebers who have built boats from both ply and fibreglass, they all agreed that using a mould for a fibreglass hull with a timber topside is by far the easiest method of construction. :?:

Assocn Moulds

No State Assoc other than Victoria owns a mould.
There are a number of professional builders with their own moulds.
Whilst Vic own the mould, it is used under licence and maintained by a professional builder...Robert Botterill & Sons who do make glass hulls with timber decks. Alan Riley's (Nat'l champion) is one of these.
A list of professional builders and contact details is on this web site...see "Boats and Equipment"
