How many Sabres are there in Australia

Postby Fuzzy Logic on Tue Jan 11, 2011 1:05 pm

Hi all,
I'm looking for some more info - does anyone know:
What sail number is the National fleet up to now? Are there Sabres in every state? Which clubs have the largest Sabre fleets?
Thanks,
Lea

Hi Lea, Sabre numbers are currently up to 1850+.

The number of boats on the water depends on whats happening per year but you would have to guess based on Natioansl numbers they be approx 400 Australia wide.

Numbers sailing can go up and down each year.

There are strong fleet in Vic, SA, QLD and now WA. NSW has gon a little quiet but still have a few boats going around in the state.

Best bet would be to have a look at the links on each states page to get a view of the Stronger clubs as there are many but in general:-

SA - Brighton and Sea Cliff
VIC - BRYC and Blairgowrie
WA - PDSC (Matilda Bay)
TAS - Deviot and Lindisfarm
QLD - Cleveland

Hello 'Guest Member',
Who are you?? Thanks for the response. So that I can get the details right in my video would you please tell me what the abbreviations BRYC (...Yacht Club) and PDSC (...Sailing Club) stand for.

As you suggest, I will look at the State links to find out more.

Thanks for the info!
