Somers Yacht Club

We have a number of people in Somers that are willing to billet competitors for the Sabre State Championships for the nights of
21st and 22nd February. There will be lunches available at the club on Saturday, Sunday and dinners on the Friday and Saturday nights.

If you are interested in booking a billet please could you contact Grahame Tiplady at:  grahame@ocean-clocks.com
Booking must be made before the end of January 2014.

Go for Gold Regatta remains Australia’s only true ‘coaching’ regatta where recognised coaches can be in the race area during the entire event. This gives sailors and coaches the unique opportunity of immediate feedback and improvement from their coaches in a real race environment.

Normal entry is $50 and $33 for bryc members.
To encourage non bryc sabre sailors, the SSAV will reimburse the difference of $17 to current members of SSAV ( must have paid their 2013/14 SSAV membership fees by 20 Nov 2013)...see TryBooking link http://www.trybooking.com/Embed.aspx?eid=58633

The Victorian States 2014 will be held on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd Feb and this year they are not on Port Philip.  You will have to learn about tides as Somers on Westernport will be the venue.  Details will follow later.  there is accommodation at Somers but with the new freeway its not a long drive from Melbourne.

The Sabre Association of Victoria will be running the annual coaching weekend on the 12th and 13th of October 2013 at Black Rock Yacht Club. VIC Sabre AGM Sunday 13th from 9:45am.

There will be on water sessions on both days and some shore based activities depending on the weather.  There are usually over 30 boats so it’s a good crowd and a chance to get to know a lot of Sabre people from around Victoria.  The coaching has always been of a very high standard and you can expect this year to be the same with various State and National Champions in the team. Training Program will be posted before the end of the week.
