2011 Albert Sailing Club Winter Season & Regatta

The Albert Sailing Club on Melbourne’s Albert Park Lake invites Sabre sailors to sail in their winter season which runs from 30 April to mid September. This includes the club’s 8 race Winter Series which commences on 21 May and the annual Winter Regatta on Saturday 25 June (pm) and Sunday 26 June (am and pm). There are options of sailing the full season or part of the season as a winter member; up to 4 races as a monthly Visitor or the Club’s annual two day regatta.

Albert Sailing Club has conducted good winter racing on Albert Park Lake for many years. The club has a well appointed clubhouse with good facilities for sailors and their families. The path around the edge of the Lake provides good viewing of the on-water sailing action, and a good track for walkers and joggers.

An overview of Albert’s 2010 winter program, fees, and further information is below. As at mid March, Albert Park Lake was at full capacity and good conditions for sailing are expected for sailing over the winter months.

Travellers Series races for a number of Class Associations will be held during the winter months. Details will be on class association and Albert Sailing Club websites.

Albert Sailing Club’s Annual Regatta on 25 and 26 June will again have a short race format, with two or more races planned per half day session. On-line entry is strongly preferred and will be available on http://www.albertsc.org.au from 1 June 2011.

Winter Season Fees
ASC Winter memberships are available for visitors who want to sail regularly in the winter season. An application form and fees are to be submitted to the club secretary or his representative on or before a boat’s first race day.

Racking : A limited number of middle and top boat racks will be available for winter and can be applied for at the time of winter membership registration :

A Daily Visitor Entry Fee is available for up to four races across the winter season (one per month). Fee payable on the day is
