    Sabre Association members

The committee and members of the Albert Sailing Club (ASC) will be pleased to welcome Sabre class association members to sail with our active club Sabre fleet during the winter months. Our winter sailing season commenced in mid June. In particular we look forward to hosting 5 events in the 2008 Sabre Association winter series. The water level in Albert Park Lake has risen over the last three months and is currently good for sailing. While not at maximum depth, the water level is the best it has been for three years.

Weather Update – Great Sailing at the Mudpuddler Regatta:
We should have some excellent winter sailing at the Regatta this weekend, no rain forecast, and a lively wind to hope for, if you believe the BOM:

Boating Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Issued at 1625 on Wednesday the 2nd of July 2008: …
    Saturday
Northerly wind of 10 to 15 knots, increasing to 15 to 20 knots during the
    morning. …
    Sunday
Northerly wind of 15 to 25 knots. …

    Translation for the Lake:
Good brisk sailing, lots of fun! Days like this the lake comes alive when there’s no sailing on the bay. :D

    Mudpuddler Inland Waters regatta:
Thank you to all the sailors who turned up on the weekend. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. Results have been posted on the ASC website:
    http://www.albertsc.org.au/results.php
Albert Sailing Club looks forward to welcoming all sailors at next year’s regatta, and any other time you want to visit.

    Next races:
The Sabre Winter Series moves to Sugarloaf on Sunday 13 July, then back to Albert Sailing Club for Saturday 26 July and and Saturday 9 August. Then it’s Lysterfield and then twice at Mordialloc including presentation – see https://www.sabre.org.au/victoria/documents/Sabre_Calendar_2008-2009v2.xls
Albert Sailing Club races take a one week break for the Winter Sail Junior Regatta on 12-13 July, and then we race every Saturday through to 13 December (except for Sea Scouts’ Regatta [CORRECTION: Sea Scouts’ Regatta is now on 30-31 August, so no club sailing at ASC on 30 August]). Plus our weekly twilight sailing starts on Tuesday 7 October.

I’ve just posted a small correction to the previous message:
CORRECTION: Sea Scouts’ Regatta is now on 30-31 August, so no club sailing at ASC on 30 August.

Looking forward to seeing lots of Sabres at ASC on 9/8/08 for the visit of the Sabre Winter Series!

    Cheers,
