I am also interested in the answer, as I will arrive at BYC on the 27th and if I can drop the boat off would be helpful.

    Hi,

I will check with my Committee re the Saturday entry.

I do know that we cannot allow part-regatta entry, due to the pricing structure for the event.

    HI,
Here is a link to the Qld RQYS Chillfest results …. http://results.rqys.com.au/09-chillfest/series.htm ….. select Sabre to view.

Well done to John Campbell, 4 wins from 4 races – winning a bottle of red for his efforts.

We experienced a full range of winds over the two days – from very light to 23k. During the windy part of the last race John recorded a top speed of 12.01 knots, measured on the GPS Travel Recorder. Gary Horne and Sue Hextell were also wearing GPS devices, the analysis of the racing has been very interesting.

Special mention to Fran Eastgate sailing Bubbles, who kept her boat upright and sailing during the windy stuff. In Race 1 she led Gary astray on the course. I guess you could say ‘never let a woman lead when its Strictly Ballroom’. Couldn’t resist guys.

The Sabre sailors (John, Anne, Sue & Gary) were joined by Dave, Sandy and Rob for dinner on Saturday night at the RQYS Boardwalk Cafe – we enjoyed a meal and planned aspects of the coming season.

Thank you to Anne and ronwyn who helped make two Sabre class flags that the RQYS start boat used – another milestone for Qld Sabres.

If any southerners would like to sail in August, Lake Cootharaba have their 2009 Allboats Regatta on 22-23 August. Look out for a link on the forum shortly.

    HI,
I have established that I did an electronic funds transfer on 19 September 2008, for $250.00 (ref K2536945607).
Is it possible to tell me if I sent paperwork?

    HI,
I do NOT have a cheque book – so I did not send a personal cheque.
So I would thus not see my cheque cleared – would I.
Much water has passed under the bridge since I sent the blessed thing off.
Is there be an entrant list published somewhere?

    Hi,

I misled everyone in my previous post.
    Its called ‘DYNEL’ cloth.

Accoding to Whitworths product info it is 104gsm
Ig you google’denel cloth’ you get a norglass site that tells about its properties.

I would like any advice on the expected advantages/disadvantages of these features in the context of Sabre construction.

    Thanks heaps,

    Slow and Steady
