Thanks guys for your input, i just wanted 2 know if there was a rule on it. because if i get another sabre i would be gettin 2 sails, a standed sail & a flat 1 for windy days because im only light & have a hard time keepin the boat flat in alot of wind. so i thought a flat sail would help

Hi all, its 2 weeks away & we plan to have 10 or more sabres sailing at easter. Yes we do blue green algae but it is not toxic & it is safe for sailing the DSE has told the club. So hope to see a few of you come down.

    Hi all,

here is some information about the easter regatta

    Easter Regatta

The popular Easter Regatta is on again. The program consists of the ‘Round Raymond Island Race’ on Saturday afternoon, a ’30 Nautical Mile’ race on Sunday for CAT5 boats, and a ‘Around the Sticks’ Race on Lake Victoria on Monday afternoon. For off the beach boats unable to compete in the 30NM race, two back-to-back races will be held on Sunday afternoon in Lake Victoria. In addition to the local fleet, a number of boats will be visiting from the Sabre Association, so close and exciting racing should be the order of the day. Visitor fees are $22/day or $55/series.

for more information go to the Gippsland lakes Yacht club website

    http://www.vicnet.net.au/~glyc/

if the link doesn’t work go though the yachting victoria website

hope some of you can make it

    hi richard,

that’s my club i sail at Gippsland lakes yacht club, we have 10 sabres sailing most weekends in the season. i know there where 3 guys that were in the team on sabres from down here before they got rid of the class out of the team, that would have been about 2002, 2003 sailing season was the last time our club had kids in the team. they sailed sabres so it has been about 3 years i think since sabres where in the team, if i’m wrong someone tell me. i’m just guessing off the top of my head.

    hi all,

i know a coach that coach’s the vyc teams & she is always pushing for kids to sail sabres but they can’t if they want to be in the vyc team because the vyc won’t let them sail a sabre it has to be a laser 4.7. that has taken over the place of the sabre when it was still a vyc team boat. my friend thinks the sabre is a much better boat then the laser 4.7 for vyc team boats.

but the vyc don’t have the same opinion as she does
